I wonder, are other yarn shop owners cursing the balmy weather? Cause it doesn't exactly make you want to knit mittens....and we'd better get some snow this year so I can use the snowshoes I bought last year, figuring I'd meet winter head on rather than hibernating. Then we got barely any snow, and the snowshoes languished in the basement! That's not to say we didn't get our share of crappy weather - just not the white stuff.
I'm stubbornly knitting away on my patchworky sweater (I say stubbornly because I decided not to make a pattern but to 'eye it up' and see what happened. Which means that the colors are real purty but it may not fit very well.) I'm trying to put Esmerelda to use here. And I'm having fun, at least! So much so that I've decided not to really knit anyone anything for Christmas. They're going to have to be the lucky recipients of the results of my clay class. For the sweater, I'm just using balls of all of my favorite yarns in blues, greens and browns, with little bits of brighter colors here and there. I hope it doesn't end up looking like one of those scary man-sweaters from the 80's....
